TRANSFAIR – Fair Transition and Social Dialogue in the Transport Sector
The TRANSFAIR project addresses the key challenges of achieving a fair and inclusive green transition in the European transport sector. As one of the most emission-intensive industries, transport plays a central role in meeting climate neutrality goals, but this transformation also brings significant social and economic implications.
TRANSFAIR focuses on strengthening social dialogue as a fundamental tool to manage change, anticipate restructuring, and support workers through job transitions. It empowers trade unions and employer organisations to actively contribute to policy-making processes and ensure that the voices of workers are fully represented in the shift towards sustainable transport systems.
The project brings together partners from Italy, Poland, Bulgaria, Montenegro, and Spain, combining practical experience with research and academic expertise. Its activities include mapping national challenges and opportunities, delivering targeted capacity-building programmes, developing an e-learning platform as a knowledge hub, and facilitating European-level social dialogue in the transport sector.
By fostering cooperation and aligning national efforts with EU-level frameworks, TRANSFAIR contributes to building a more resilient, inclusive, and socially just transport sector, supporting Europe’s transition to climate neutrality.
