Promoting role of EWCs for social and environmental sustainability of transport sector<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

The project is joint initiative of national level transport sector social partners from Italy, Lithuanian, Latvia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia and Spain with involvement of CESI as European level partner who will support the implementation of the existing legal requirements, raise awareness of the potential benefits of European Works Councils for companies and employee representatives, and improve the functioning of European Works Councils by implementing EWC agreements. Project is based on building up the capacity of social partners to make good use of the EWC, to boost the inclusion of trade union representatives in EWC but also ensure their capacity to negotiate an agreement and impact transport environmental policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trade Unions\u2019 Transition- Enhancing Participation in Time of Crisis (TUTEPToC)<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Novel COVID -19 pandemic dramatically changed the situation on the labour market. The results turned out more severe in Italy than in any other European member states. Public sector workers face the decisions taken by their companies without making employees involved in those decision-making process. In order to tackle these issues, this project aims to support trade unions and employees to get involved in undertakings to address the crisis caused by the pandemic.  The project includes the preparation, implementation, follow-up and dissemination phases. The number of face-to-face discussions, experience sharing activities coupled with the analysis implemented by the experts will bring sustainable project outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Learning FAST and GREEN<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The transition to a green economy is significantly impacting the public transport sector. The EU guidelines for a Just Transition recognize the importance of involving all stakeholders in reducing emissions and adapting to climate change impacts. This includes the engagement of businesses, organizations, governments, and most importantly, the workers themselves. Social partners, such as trade unions, play a crucial role in representing workers and ensuring their involvement in the development and implementation of environmental policies at the company level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main objective of this project is to enhance the engagement of trade union representatives in shaping and implementing environmental policies within their respective companies. It is essential to equip local trade union representatives with the necessary knowledge and understanding of the environmental and socioeconomic challenges associated with sustainability efforts. By doing so, trade unions can effectively contribute to industrial dialogue, industrial policies, and incorporate environmental policy design within their organizations, taking into account the consequences of climate change on employment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In summary, the project aims to empower trade union representatives to actively participate in environmental policy development and implementation, enabling them to address climate change’s impact on employment and integrate sustainability initiatives within their companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cNew Normal\u201d- Building Workers\u2019 Post COVID19 Involvement and Consultation Capacity in Transport Undertakings<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This project aims to mitigate the negative impacts of COVID-19 measures on transportation sector workers by evaluating and promoting their rights to information, consultation, and participation in decision-making. To achieve this, it brings together trade unions, employers, and industry experts to develop tailored solutions that address local needs while establishing an international network to safeguard worker participation and protect labor conditions across the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mobility ImPACT on Transport Workers (MIPACT)<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Mobility ImPACT on Transport Workers (MIPACT) project aims to support the implementation of key principles regarding the posting of workers. It focuses on funding initiatives that enhance the correct application of Directive 96\/71\/EC and Directive (EU) 2018\/957, as well as the enforcement of Directive 2014\/67\/EU. A research project will be developed to analyze the impact of the mobility package on the posting of transport workers, particularly truck drivers. Interactive infographics will be created, both in printed and digital formats, providing information and advice on the new law and the challenges it poses. Sticky notes, stickers, and QR codes will be used to facilitate access to useful information and support contact details. The digital infographics will feature clickable fields to direct users to points of interest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Green.Smart.Transport.Deal<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Green.Smart.Transport.Deal<\/strong> project aims to strengthen transnational cooperation among trade unions, employers, and stakeholders to actively involve transport sector workers in implementing the European Green Deal and the Strategy for Sustainable and Smart Mobility. By facilitating dialogue, knowledge sharing, and skills training, the project empowers employees to contribute to decision-making processes, ensuring that the transition toward a greener and smarter transport industry is achieved in a socially responsible and equitable manner for all workers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Supporting the Public Services Sector for Establishing and Promoting EWCs<\/h3><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

This project focuses on addressing the low number and practical shortcomings of European Works Councils (EWCs) in the public services sector, where companies often struggle to meet establishment thresholds. By driving a complete cycle of activities\u2014including international meetings, specialized training, and a dedicated publication\u2014the project aims to enhance transnational worker participation, raise awareness, and ensure the proper application of EU consultation mechanisms across member states (Spain and Italy) and candidate countries (Serbia and North Macedonia). Ultimately, it seeks to strengthen cooperation between public service trade unions and employers’ organizations to support both the establishment of new EWCs and the effectiveness of existing ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
